The Culverhouse’s in Korea - March 2002

Hello Everyone.

See we told you we'd be in touch straight away.... Must apologise for the delay in getting in contact but we've had some real problems sorting out our phone and internet lines, long story and best saved for a quiet day but I think we're sorted now, so no more excuses.

For those of you that didn't know we're 9 hours ahead of you so if you don't mind a call in the middle of the night let us know as it will be a lot more convenient for us. Well we got settled in pretty fast, had about 10 chaps to help us unpack the furniture and get set up, so that was rather painless.

Cats arrived as per plan and were just a little miffed and confused at first, that was until they saw all the fun play boxes we'd left out for them to sleep in and destroy etc as you can see!!!!!

My naive view of the cats staying in our garden due to the high level etc was destroyed within seconds. Podge was out and up the street with Dan swiftly behind him. We were just a BIT nervous at first but they soon found it normal and bar Harry fighting two dogs next door and a visit from another cat it's all been fairly uneventful.

The house is fab and felt like home as soon as we'd set all our stuff up. I'm slowly working through my vision of organisation for the office, but do realise I'm a little obsessed, I think my brain has decided that after the prep for the wedding etc it wants everything just so.

Well we were quite quick to embark on the social scene and among other things have been to the British women's group meeting (LC only, not Dans bag), a couple of pot luck lunches (I'll explain later-not as exciting as it sounds) and a Harley Davison wedding. We were planning to go to a wedding in Melbourne in April but we're still working on that idea.

Work is going well for Dan, although I do think he's only at the foot of the mountain at the moment and there's a long way to go yet (but he's having fun on the journey, out several times a week - married life's obviously changed me as he's still alive!!). We've had problems with almost all of our technology so far and subsequently haven't managed to find a web cam that works, but I'm coming back to the UK next week and plan to buy one there so we'll be set up for May (please let us know if you have one).

So on the subject of coming home. I'm landing late on Monday evening so will probably be alive and kicking by Tuesday PM. I will start trying to call people but won't get to say hi to everyone so please give me a bell when you get a minute. I'll be around until April 10th although I will be working and have got quite a lot of travel so I may not get to see you this visit (unless you're one of the lucky?? few in Northampton).

We're both really enjoying it here but can't say that we're not missing you all, so please do stay in touch even if it's just the odd (quite appropriate for some of you) e-mail now and then.

Quite a few of you have mentioned you'd like to come and visit at some point. Can you please let us know when you think you'll make it, as due to my trips home we seem to have few available weeks left this year and it's starting to get busy already for next year.

Don't forget my 30th birthday celebration (it's been such a long time since the last party). It will be held at The Hunsbury Hill Centre, Harksome Hill, Northampton on 17th May from 18.00.

I hope you can all make it, should be a laugh. I'm going for a wild west theme so get out your cowboy boots and tight jeans. It's starting early so the kids can come too, I'll be doing bbq food and hope to get a buckaroo. Please let me know if you need directions/plan to come before the end of April.
